Healthways profits up 30%; 2008 outlook strong

Disease management (DM) vendor Healthways, Inc., says its 2008 third-quarter income rose 30% as the company signed a variety of new contracts, especially with self-insured employers. At the same time, the Nashville-based company reaffirmed its profit and revenue outlook for fiscal year (FY) 2008.
The third-quarter results “represent a substantial step toward achieving our earning and revenue guidance for the fiscal year,” Healthways president and CEO Ben Leedle Jr. said June 18 during the company’s earnings conference call.
