  • Resident is typically found on the floor, unable to get up or move the injured leg.
  • Inability to stand or use the leg normally; occassionally, a resident with a fracture will be able to walk with difficulty, but most are unable to ambulate after a fall and hip fracture. A resident with a stress fracture may be able to walk with a limp.
  • Pain or tenderness with palpation in the inguinal area will cause pain.
  • Loss of function.
