Momentum grows for Medicaid DM, care management

There is considerable momentum among the states to move beyond fee-for-service in Medicaid to more coordinated care approaches for certain subsets of the beneficiary population. These subsets offer substantial opportunities for improving quality and controlling costs.
That’s according to a new report from the Hamilton, NJ–based Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS), which looked at purchasing strategies to improve care management for complex populations within Medicaid.
