Man makes life difficult for police, security officers

Healthcare Security Weekly, April 14, 2008

A man, who has pretended to be a physician at two Florida hospitals, has filed restraining orders against two South Florida police officers and two hospital security experts. The result is the officers have had their guns and badges taken away, reported CBS4 News in Miami.

Security officers ordered the man, who has been found mentally incompetent, to leave University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital after they found him wandering hallways and offices pretending to be a doctor. He was also ordered to leave Miami Children’s Hospital where he claimed to be a doctor, the television station reported.

He responded by filing domestic violence restraining orders against those who questioned him, and when a restraining order is issued, a person must surrender their guns and gun permits, CBS4 reported.
