GetRXConnected offers physicians online e-prescribing advice, assistance
EHR Connection, March 24, 2008
Five physician groups have joined forces to launch GetRxConnected.com, a Web site designed to assist their colleagues transition from paper-based prescriptions to e-prescribing, according to a March 4 Yahoo News article.
The Web site includes a technology guide, offers physician perspectives on the benefits of e-prescribing, and points to connected pharmacies, the article says. The effort has the support of groups such as The American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Medical Group Management Association.
Approximately 150,000 U.S. physicians currently fax prescriptions, but Medicare will require electronic transmission of prescriptions it covers effective January 1, 2009, according to the article.
