"Connecting for Care Revisited: What Hospitals are Doing to Improve Patient Care through Information Technology" will be one of several panel discussions at the American Hospital Association (AHA) membership meeting April 6-9 in Washington, DC, according to the group's Web site.
This discussion will include updates on the ways in which healthcare organizations are making positive changes in work processes with EHRs and other information technology solutions.
Joining moderator George Lynn, president emeritus of New Jersey's AtlantiCare, will be:
- Glenn Steele, Jr., MD, president and CEO of Pennsylvania's Geisinger Health System
- William K. Atkinson, PhD, president and CEO of WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, NC
- Jonathon B. Perlin, MD, chief medical officer and senior vice president of quality at HCA Healthcare in Nashville, TN
"The 2008 annual membership meeting theme, 'Vision to Action: Local Leadership, National Change,' is a reflection of the important role you play in your community, and the AHA's commitment to ensuring that your wisdom, talent and energy continues to be a positive, driving force behind improving American health care," Rich Umbdenstock, AHA president, said in a letter on the group's Web site.
