Tips to reduce negative behavior

Some methods that are helpful in reducing or eliminating negative behaviors are:

  • Discuss family, friends, or other pleasant information
  • Meet the resident's physical needs
  • Allow residents as much control over care and routines as possible
  • Be patient
  • Control your own reactions and body language
  • Be happy and smile often
