Governors association seeks e-health taskforce members
EHR Connection, February 18, 2008
The National Governors Association (NGA) seeks nominations for membership on two taskforces that will examine various matters pertaining to electronic health records.
One taskforce will examine regulatory and legal issues associated with maintaining appropriate privacy and security protections while facilitating appropriate interoperable exchange of electronic health information and the impact on healthcare practices. Candidates should have expertise and experience in state and/or national level privacy and/or security issues related to health information exchange.
The second taskforce will examine state government roles in the exchange of electronic health information, including options and best practices related to purchasing healthcare, funding initiatives, regulations, and consumer protection. Candidates should have broad knowledge of healthcare and health information technology issues.
One-year terms will begin in March, unless otherwise determined. Membership requirements will include attendance at meetings, most of which will be in Washington, D.C., and participation in conference calls. The NGA will reimburse taskforce members for appropriate travel and accommodation expenses.
Nominations should include complete contact information and a one-page biography. The deadline for receipt of materials is February 20.
