HIMSS announces award recipients
EHR Connection, January 14, 2008
The Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) announced its Chapter Advocacy Liaison Recognition (CALR) Program 2007 honorees in a January 2 press release.
The CALR Program helps HIMSS coordinate an effective, sophisticated grassroots advocacy effort nationwide, according to the press release.
Recognition levels-Presidential, Ambassador, and Advocate-are based on chapter program activities throughout the year. The Presidential Level award honors the highest tier of relationship-building legislative activity at a HIMSS chapter. The Ambassador Level award recognizes active and ongoing commitment to advocacy activity at the chapter level. Chapters that demonstrate an active, entry-level commitment to advocacy efforts receive Advocate Level recognition.
The current awards include two Presidential Level, eight Ambassador Level, and 14 Advocate Level.
Founded in 1961, HIMSS describes its mission as leading change in healthcare information and management systems through advocacy, collaboration, community affiliations, innovation, and knowledge sharing. The organization represents 20,000 individual members and more than 300 throughout the United States and Europe.
