Urinary tract infection (UTI)

Long-Term Care Nursing Advisor, December 14, 2007

Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a symptomatic infection that can occur anywhere in the urinary tract. It is more common in women, but men may also experience it. Geriatric long-term care facility residents are at greater risk of infection than their peers who live in the community. Inadequate fluid intake greatly increases the risk.
