CMS posts info on hospital-acquired conditions
Quality Improvement Monitor, December 14, 2007
CMS has added a page to its Web site with additional information describing reporting and coding of hospital-acquired conditions.
The chart describes three different categories of conditions, first introduced in the Inpatient Prospective Payment System Final Rule in August that, when present, trigger a higher payment as either a complicating condition or major complicating condition.
