PPV: AHIMA’s blueprint for HIM education of the future sparks discussion, fuels debate among current professionals

A generation ago, concepts such as EMRs, PHRs, and computer-assisted coding were distant thoughts at best. Now, they are an essential component of an HIM professional's lexicon. But do educational programs prepare today's HIM professionals to accommodate the rapid advancements that these and other terms represent?
Industry experts pose this question in Vision 2016: A Blueprint for Quality Education in Health Information Management. The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) published the highly debated white paper September 24.
