Senator asks government to release quality info

Quality Improvement Monitor, November 16, 2007

Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) has written a letter to the Department of Health and Human Services asking the government to release more information on how Medicare money is being spent, according to the Union Leader.

"In order for America's healthcare system to improve, we need to understand the quality of the care we are purchasing," Gregg wrote, the Union Leader reported.

In the fall, a federal judge ordered CMS to release the quality data, but the decision has been appealed.
