CMS released its planned October replacement downloadable NPI file. The file, released October 23, is a full replacement of its previously issued file, and it includes all of the data contained in the original, as well as all updates that providers have made since the original release, according to CMS.

CMS anticipates that it will release updates on a monthly basis. It will only make the most up-to-date version available for download.
