Hospitals prepare year-round for a Joint Commission (formerly JCAHO) survey using audits, mock tracers, education sessions, and more. It is the ultimate test to prove a hospital's worthiness of accreditation. And although many hospitals pass this test with flying colors, others struggle with informal recommendations and requests for improvement (RFI).
