Dave Fee, MBA, marketing manager for outpatient products at 3M Health Information Systems in Murray, UT, suggests that you take a look at CMS Transmittal 1336 to ensure that you understand the effect of the new diagnosis codes. Fee notes that your facility should update all of its systems in a timely manner. He also suggests that facilities review the OPPS proposed rule, which contains the preliminary changes for 2008.
