PPV: Tips to help tackle MS-DRG challenges, new CC system

The change to the Medicare Severity DRG (MS-DRG) system brings with it a host of challenges-the most difficult of which is accurately capturing complications/comorbidities (CC) and major CCs (MCC). This is complicated by the fact that some conditions that were CCs for many years will no longer fall into higher-paying groups, and conditions that were not CCs in past years are now CCs or MCCs with the appropriate documentation. Providers can expect four hurdles, in particular, as they prepare for the MS-DRG system
