A physician at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, lost an external hard drive on April 21 in the Canada's busiest airport, Pearson International, according to an article in the Toronto Star. The drive contained names, birthdates, and diagnosis, as well as photographs of patients' eyes and eye injuries, for 3,300 patients, says the Star. The hospital, which is an affiliate of the University of Toronto, did not inform the patients whose personal information was exposed by the breach until August 28, according to the August 31 article.
