PPV: CMS adopts one of five proposed quality measures for 2009

Now is the time for hospitals to refine their data collection, review, and reporting processes as they prepare to incorporate additional measures for the Reporting Hospital Quality Data for Annual Payment Update (RHQDAPU) program.
In the IPPS proposed rule, CMS suggested adding one outcome measure and four process measures in fiscal year (FY) 2009 to the existing 27 measures that hospitals will report in FY 2008.
