You can add Central Vermont Medical Center to the growing list of hospitals adopting electronic medical records, as hospitals throughout Vermont are beginning to increase their use of healthcare technology to improve care, according to the Barre Montepelier Times Argus. The implementation of the electronic records system costs $1,012 million for the facility and its outpatient offices.
Patient privacy will increase with the new electronic system. If patients don't want their information shared, the facility can put safeguards in place, says Tim Burdick, the staff member leading the transition, according to the Times Argus article.
