Florida medical data may go online

Physicians and hospitals throughout Florida may soon be able to obtain patient information using the Internet instead of relying on patients to provide it. According to The Tampa Tribune, proposed bills would expand local electronic medical record-sharing programs into a single, statewide network.

This year's legislation would create a statewide Florida Health Information Network. The project is estimated to cost $51 million.
