A federal judge in Madison, WI, sentenced a man on October 31 to 18 months in prison and ordered him to pay more than $200,000 in fines and restitution for stealing computers from the hospital where he worked.
Between October 2002 and March 2005, Stuart Kurschner stole computers from Eau Claire, WI-based Luther Midelfort Hospital and auctioned them on eBay. Hospital officials eventually discovered that approximately 200 computers had disappeared. Kurschner plead guilty on August 23 to charges of the interstate sale of stolen goods.
