To ensure payment of claims while CMS tests software developed to handle the NPI, providers should submit legacy numbers regardless of whether they use an NPI, the agency announced.
CMS also announced that it will provide an encore presentation of the NPI Roundtable held on September 26. Many callers were unable to join the original call due to a record number of participants. The encore presentation is available 24 hours per day until Wednesday, October 4. You can access it at 800/642-1687 (conference identification: 4795739).
CMS will soon post a transcript of the roundtable here.
