Two of Georgia's major insurers, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia and Kaiser Permanente, are each unveiling new personal health records, the Associated Press reports. The new records will be available to over 3 million Georgia residents by mid-September.
The Blue Cross record will include claims data, test results, and other information. A thesaurus will translate medical documentation into more understandable language. However, neither company's record will be accessible by patients when they leave the insurer or by out-of-network providers.
