The personal information of approximately 930,000 prospective beneficiaries is at risk after a thief stole a server from an office of American Insurance Group (AIG), NBC News reports.

The March 31 break-in occurred in a Midwest AIG office. The server is password protected and there is no evidence that the information-which includes Social Security numbers, names, and health information-has been used. AIG has kept details of the breach from the public to prevent the thief from knowing what the server contains, according to NBC News.

Insurance brokers forwarded the information to AIG to help area employers obtain rate quotes for excess medical insurance. Although AIG informed the brokers of the breach, it has not yet notified any of the individuals whose data was stolen. AIG is conducting a forensic analysis of the theft.
