NIST releases draft security log guidance

The National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) recently released for comment a draft guide on security log management. The publication explains how security officers should develop, establish, and maintain an effective enterprise-wide security log solution.
The document also provides guidance on the following:
- Creating a central log infrastructure
- Defining security log roles and responsibilities
- Developing manageable log policies
- Configuring log generating sources
- Performing log analysis
