Health Information Privacy and Security Week will be held April 9-15, 2006. The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) will sponsor the event.

The week is designed to raise awareness among healthcare professionals, their employers, and the public of the importance of protecting the privacy, confidentiality, and security of personal health information. During the week, AHIMA and its members will work to educate and inform these groups of their rights and responsibilities related to the use and disclosure of PHI.

Click here for more information, including a Powerpoint® presentation about the week and information to pass onto your patients about healthcare privacy and security.
