ASC X12N releases free claim attachment guide for comment

The Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12N recently released the ASC X12N Health Care Claim Acknowledgment (277) Implementation Guide for industry review.
Based on version 5010 of the ASC X12 family of standards, the purpose of the 277 guide is to
- provide standard data requirements and content for 277 use as an acknowledgment to claim submission transactions (837)
- meet the healthcare industry's need for use of the 277 to acknowledge the acceptance or rejection of claims considered for introduction into a payer's adjudication system
You can submit comments on the draft guide at http://www.wpc-edi.com/conferences/tg2/implementationguides.The public review period ends at 5 p.m. (EST) Friday, April 28, 2006.
