HIMSS forms RHIO federation

The Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) established the HIMSS Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIO) Federation on October 21.

The goal of the Federation is to collaborate in setting realistic expectations for the exchanged of healthcare information, according to HIMSS.

"HIMSS established this Federation to bring together all the necessary players and resources to share health information effectively and efficiently," said HIMSS executive vice president, Carla Smith, NCMN, FHIMSS. "The Federation will help connect and provide support for RHIOs in the areas of advocacy and education while developing information and best practice tools."
