CMS releases new security paper on risk analysis, management

Organizations looking for additional guidance on risk analysis and management can find a new educational paper on The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Web site. CMS recently released, "Basics of Risk Analysis and Risk Management," the sixth paper in its series of seven planned HIPAA security papers.

The latest paper reviews the security rule's required implementation specifications for risk analysis and risk management, as well as the basic concepts and general steps involved.
