Law enforcement officials in San Jose, CA recovered recently stolen disks and computers containing the records of nearly 200,000 patients of the San Jose Medical Group, reported the San Jose Mercury News.

Former branch manager, Joseph Nathaniel Harris, was accused of stealing the equipment and selling the information and equipment on the Internet. He was charged with theft.

When the security breach took place earlier this year, the medical group sent letters to current and former patients warning them of the possibility that their names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and other confidential information may have been compromised.
