Sixty percent of small- to medium-sized hospitals that participated in recent research by Ontario-based Info-Tech Research will increase their IT investments to fully comply with HIPAA security regulations.
The Info-Tech study-which included 1,400 hospitals-found that to meet HIPAA, 62% will invest in security software and 57% will invest in security hardware, according to Compliance Pipeline.
The biggest growth in IT investment will occur in the larger hospitals with more than 2,000 employees. Visit Info-Tech's Web site for more information.
