A visit in late March to the new location of the Hartford (CT) health department by elected city officials and newspaper and television reporters raised privacy concerns, according to the Hartford Courant.

Reportedly, an alderman entered an exam room where a nurse was treating two patients. One of the television crews filmed the treatment and the segment allegedly aired on the evening news without the permission of the patients, reported the Courant.

The visitors deny involving any patients in their visit, which they made to assess the adequacy of the new location. They also claim that the Hartford mayor-who spearheaded the health department move-is trying to divert attention from problems with the new facility.

No patients have filed complaints over the incident, according to the paper.
