There is much speculation circulating around the condition and diagnosis of Yankees' first baseman, Jason Giambi, who recently revealed that he had a benign tumor, according to The Houston Chronicle August 4.

HIPAA is warding away reporters who in the past have had more open access to athletes' health information. The privacy rule is keeping the Yankees-and the media-from releasing Giambi's personal information to the public, says The Chronicle.

The ailing player had originally been diagnosed with an intestinal parasite, but now is pointing to the tumor as the reason for his drooping performance and sudden weight loss, reports The Chronicle.
