HIPAA compliance included in new guidance

More extensive discussions of risk and recommendations for HIPAA compliance and reduction of risk were just a few topics covered in recent supplemental guidance issued by the Office of Inspector General, Vinson & Elkins LLP reported June 22.
The draft guidance was issued with a 60-day comment period. The guidance highlights risk areas related to HIPAA, but focuses much on Stark requirements, according to Vinson & Elkins.
