An employee of Qwest Diagnostics, one of the nation's largest diagnostic laboratories, has been accused of identity theft. Darren G. Rogers of Baltimore allegedly stole the medical records of as many as 20 individuals, reports the "Baltimore Sun," April 16.
Qwest says it takes care to train all its employees on proper handling of private health information, and that it runs background checks on all staff, the Sun reports.
The victims are Navy officers stationed aboard the USS George Washington, the paper said.
