A technical hiccup on a Florida-state government Web site allows unauthorized individuals to view nursing-home patient information, the Miami Herald reported April 15.

The MyFlorida.com site has a feature for posting complaints about nursing home care, that often include patient names, health problems, and treatment information. A man posting to the site discovered that by slightly altering the Web address he could view the entire complaint database for Miami-Dade county, according to the Herald.

The Herald contacted the managers of the site, and it is currently off-line.
