HHS published a notice in the March 11 Federal Register outlining the process for requesting state law preemption exceptions and listing reasons that may be used to justify an exemption of HIPAA regulations. Requests must be made to HHS in writing and in the specified format.
HHS also published a correction notice for the final transactions and code sets modifications in the March 10 Federal Register.
The notice fixes some significant errors in the February 20 publication.
