Modifier -59 is the most commonly used and abused modifier, according to CMS. The recent introduction of four new subsets of -59 has caused confusion for providers due to limited guidance from CMS.
This program will cover the latest information on NCCI and MUE edits, including an explanation of the MUE adjudication indicator (MAI) and guidance on the appropriate use of modifier -59 and the new -X {EPSU} modifiers, as well as -25, -76, -77 and -91 for overriding edits.
