Pay-per-view: CMS adds comprehensive APC logic in January quarterly I/OCE update

The implementation of comprehensive APCs (C-APCs) in the 2015 OPPS final rule likely wasn't a huge surprise to most providers, given CMS discussed this concept in the 2014 final rule and indicated it expected to implement it the following year.
 
CMS has followed through on its promise of changes, such as the introduction of C-APCs and expanded packaging, to support its goal of moving the OPPS toward a more bundled payment system rather than an à la carte, fee-for-service system.
