Tanner Health System in Georgia seeks a CDI specialist to coordinate reviews and ensure the accuracy of medical record documentation. The successful candidate would be expected to review records for the principal diagnosis assignment, identification of pertinent secondary diagnoses and procedures for accurate DRG assignment. Secondary, follow-up reviews, physician queries, and cross-disciplinary collaboration would be required as needed. The position also calls for significant analytical skills to evaluate coding and reimbursement issues identified through daily documentation reviews and aggregate data analysis. Candidates should have an RHIA or RHIT with CCS certification or three years coding experience or be a registered nurse or LPN with two years clinical experience.
