CMS is currently looking for 850 volunteers from various specialties and sizes for the January 26-30 ICD-10 end-to-end testing. During this testing phase, providers will be able to submit claims using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes to determine whether they can successfully transmit claims. CMS will adjudicate the claims and send remittance advice.
If you are interested, you can start by filling out forms available at your MAC’s website. You have until October 3 to submit the forms and Common Electronic Data Interchange and MACs should notify selected providers by October 24.
CMS is planning a total of three end-to-end testing periods prior to the October 1, 2015 ICD-10 implementation date.
CMS plans to create educational materials after the testing period to address common problems.
