The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently released its fiscal year (FY) 2014–2018 strategic plan, which outlines four core goals:
- Strengthening healthcare
- Advancing scientific knowledge and innovation
- Advancing the health, safety, and well-being of Americans
- Ensuring efficiency, transparency, accountability, and effectiveness of HHS programs
The plan further defines why such goals were chosen and identifies actions to help the agency meet their targets. By definition the strategic plan is broad-based, intended to help the agency identify industry problems and potential solutions.
