Carolyn Taggett, RHIT, director of health information services at Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent, is the winner of our MRB 25th birthday contest.
We had numerous contest entries—readers had to submit information about their ICD-10 education plans, several of which we hope to feature in upcoming issues of the newsletter.
In the meantime, we’re glad that Carolyn is excited about her prize: She and her coders, CDI staff, and other HIM staff members will be attending the JustCoding Virtual Summit: ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, an online conference held February 29–March 2.
The conference features 2 separate tracks—one for HIM directors and managers and the other for coders—and includes 12 sessions spread out over three days. Several of your favorite MRB advisory board members, columnists, and educators will be presenting sessions, including:
- Rose T. Dunn RHIA, MBA, CPA, FACHE, FHFMA, will discuss coder productivity and your 2012 implementation roadmap
- Robert S. Gold MD, will present on ICD-10 physician education as well as the clinical aspects of ICD-10 for the musculosketal system
- Gloryanne Bryant, BS, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCDS, will speak on documentation and coding assessments
- James S. Kennedy MD, CCS, will teach coders about ICD-10-PCS from a clinical perspective
I’d also just like to highlight that one registration will get you into both conference tracks—all without having to leave the office. And don’t worry; if you miss a session, you’ll have access to all of them online on-demand for six months after the program.
It promises to be a great conference, and we’d love to have you join us along with Carolyn. For more information and for the latest CEU information, visit www.hcmarketplace.com/JCSummit.
