AHA to host November conference calls with CMS and RAC representatives

The American Hospital Association (AHA) will host four members-only conference calls—one for each recovery audit contractor (RAC) region—the first week of November with CMS and RAC officials.

These calls provide AHA members an opportunity to discuss with the two regulatory bodies any process problems they may have encountered with the RAC program. Note the following days and times for the four RAC calls by region:
  • Region A: Friday, November 4, 9– 11 a.m. EST
  • Region B: Tuesday November 1, 1– 3 p.m. EST
  • Region C: Wednesday November 2, 2– 4 p.m. EST
  • Region D: Thursday November 3, 1– 3 p.m. EST
In addition to reviewing the latest updates, speakers on the conference calls will also address critical factors RACs consider when making medical necessity review determinations.
