HIM’s top 10 problematic Joint Commission EPs

Almost all hospital HIM departments struggle with some Joint Commission EPs.. Surveyors continue to focus on them, so chances are you should too.
These troublesome standards should be the focus of any type of ongoing record review or documentation audit, said Jean S. Clark, RHIA, CSHA, director of accreditation at Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston, SC, and former president of AHIMA. Clark spoke during the February 18 HCPro, Inc., audio conference, "HIM and The Joint Commission: Your Role in Survey Prep and Compliance."
According to Clark, 10 EPs almost never pass a surveyor's test.
