- A number of ACDIS members will be eligible for Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) credential recertification in May. Individuals possessing the CCDS must apply for recertification every two years from the date on which they passed the CCDS exam. CCDS certification holders must submit 20 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) relevant to the field of CDI by using the Continuing Education Submission Form. Re-taking the CCDS examination is not necessary. Please review the document CEU Qualifying Activities for examples of acceptable CE activities. If you have any questions, please contact our continuing education coordinator Kerry Neenan at kneenan@hcpro.com.
- Every month, ACDIS provides a new article of the month available to site visitors for free. This month’s article was featured in the January edition of The CDI Journal, regarding the autumn release of AHIMA’s “Ethical Standards for Clinical Documentation Specialists.” Archives of previous articles of the month are collected under the Helpful Resources section of the ACDIS website.
- We frequently hear from members that the sheer volume of information available on the ACDIS site can seem daunting. It is one reason why ACDIS Director Brian Murphy created a short 10-minute video to guide visitors through some of content highlights and tips to help members glean the most value from their membership. The video is located on the right navigation bar.
