During this audit-intensive climate and time of economic hardship, hospitals want to ensure that they are paid and don’t ultimately have to give that money back. ln an effort to enhance compliance, hospitals want all the help and advice they can get regarding how to best operationalize various rules and regulations. However, not all advice is good advice, and coders need to think twice about the accuracy and timeliness of the information they receive.
