Although we’re all getting back from the holidays—and getting unburied from work—please take a moment to look over the offerings at the fourth annual ACDIS conference to be held this April 7-8 in sunny Orlando.
ACDIS is proud to be hosting two surgeons who will discuss documentation as it relates to surgical complications, a healthcare attorney to discuss legal issues and compliance implications as it relates to a real case about documentation and coding, as well as experts from AHIMA and 3M to talk about documentation challenges in ICD-10 to help get you started on the path to readiness.
In addition, we’ve brought back a mix of past favorites and new perspectives, including:
Dr. James Kennedy, Dr. William Haik, and Dr. Pamela Bensen to provide more physician perspectives, case studies of successful CDI programs, the latest on physician queries, using data to drive your program’s progress, CDI and its relationship to quality initiatives, and much more.
This year we’ve also expanded our poster session, added a local chapter networking lunch for everyone on Day Two, and are offering a unique pre-conference event for physician advisors to CDI (it’s also open to CDI specialists and managers wanting to optimize their advisors’ performance, or find the right candidate from the medical staff).
Finally, it goes without saying that Orlando is an attraction in and of itself, and the Hilton is located in the Walt Disney World Resort ® and its wonderful attractions and theme parks. We’re proud that we are able to offer discounted tickets for ACDIS members and complimentary transportation to the theme parks. We’re also located directly across the street from Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island. Please take a look, and when you come, consider bringing your families to enjoy the wonderful entertainment Orlando has to offer.
Special thanks go to our conference committee for putting together such a wonderful program. I think it will be our best conference yet. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to e-mail or call. I hope to see you all there!
Take care,
Brian Murphy
Director, ACDIS
