We are currently seeking speakers to present at the 2011 ACDIS Fourth Annual Conference, to be held April 7-8, 2011 at the Hilton Walt Disney Resort in Orlando.
Speakers willing to present on all aspects of clinical documentation are welcome and we encourage new and unique ideas. Case studies of successful programs are always welcome, too. However, we are also looking for speakers willing to present on the following topics:
- ICD-10 (CDI implementation strategies, documentation changes, etc.)
- Surgical complications/distinguishing complications from expected events, preferably presented by a surgeon
- Data gathering/tracking/reporting: Be willing to share your facility?s data
- Experienced CDI programs and keeping the momentum going/taking a program to the next level
- Documentation improvement to reflect severity of illness/risk of mortality
- Information about other regulatory/auditing agencies besides or in addition to RAC
- Benchmarking and productivity standards (sharing information on query rates, agree rates, etc)
- Disease processes (any number, review of common problem diagnoses such as sepsis, ARF, and other diagnoses like cerebral edema, functional quadriplegia, malnutrition, poisonings, etc.)
- CDI and its benefits on quality/reducing readmissions/HACs/etc.
- Physician queries: Presenting them effectively and in a compliant fashion
- Expanding CDI into the ER/outpatient/physician E/M realms
Speakers will be expected to provide PowerPoint materials in a timely fashion. Sessions are typically one hour in length. You can download the application form here:
Please fill out all the entries on the form and submit it ACDIS Director Brian Murphy, at bmurphy@cdiassociation.com by August 27. A conference committee will make all final decisions on speakers and sessions by mid-September.
